Security
We handle sensitive legal and financial data. Every product we build is engineered with enterprise-grade security from the ground up — not bolted on as an afterthought.
All data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.3 — the same standard used by banks. Every API call, document, and login is encrypted end-to-end.
All databases use PostgreSQL with encryption at rest on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure (Railway). Automated daily backups with point-in-time recovery.
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (work factor 12). We never store plaintext passwords. Even a full database breach can't expose your credentials.
Short-lived access tokens (30 min) with secure refresh rotation. Auto-logout on suspicious activity. No cookies to steal or replay.
X-Frame-Options DENY, X-XSS-Protection, strict CSP, HSTS, and Referrer-Policy on every response. Protection against clickjacking, XSS, and MIME attacks.
API rate limiting prevents brute-force attacks. Strict CORS policy. Input validation and parameterized queries prevent SQL injection on every endpoint.

So we built what our friends and family wished they had. Not because we're a big company with a master plan — but because we're a small group of people who got tired of watching the people we care about get taken advantage of. That's who we are and that's who we build for.
Obsidian Clad Labs is a small group of friends out of Tennessee. Five products live — ClauseShield for freelancers, LienShield for contractors, TeachShield for educators, ScamShield for anyone who's ever wondered “is this a scam?”, and ShutterShield for photographers who deserve faster editing and beautiful client galleries. Every one of them started as a real problem that someone we know actually had. We make software for our friends, our family, and you.
