By accessing or using any service operated by Obsidian Clad Labs LLC (“OCL,” “we,” “us”), including ClauseShield, LienShield, TeachShield, ScamShield, ShutterShield, and obsidiancladlabs.com (collectively, “Services”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our Services.
Our Services are tools, not professional advice. ClauseShield and LienShield are document preparation and analysis services — they do not provide legal advice. TeachShield assists with grading but does not replace professional educator judgment. ScamShield provides risk assessments but cannot guarantee detection of all scams. ShutterShield provides AI photo editing but does not guarantee specific image quality outcomes. Always consult appropriate professionals for legal, financial, or educational decisions.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account (or 13 with parental consent for ScamShield).
Each Service offers a free tier with usage limits and optional paid plans with expanded features. Prices are listed on each product's pricing page and may change with 30 days' notice.
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period. No refunds for partial billing periods, except as required by law. Annual plans may receive a prorated refund within the first 30 days.
You retain all rights to content you upload (contracts, essays, filings, scan inputs). By using our Services, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the service. We do not use your content for AI training, advertising, or any purpose beyond delivering your results.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OCL'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT OUR AI ANALYSIS WILL BE ERROR-FREE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
